1. INTRODUCTION

International Online Teachers Society (IOTS) was established to improve online teachers qualification, to offer online job opportunities to member teachers and to share applied linguistics, language pedagogy and online, offline educational methodology for the mutual benefit of online, offline teachers in the world. The main activities of IOTS are video lecturing, issuing the certificate of online teachers and publishing global standard online text books to share with IOTSians and students for free of charge. IOTS is also providing free online educational sites contributed by IOTSians with all members of IOTS by posting them on IOTS fan pages.

IOTS Facebook is designed to invite online and offline language teachers from the world, to share information on online and offline teaching methodology, the best educational links, teaching expertise, etc. IOTS Facebook help IOTSians to post video lecturing, contribution essays and job offerings on real time basis. The prospective members are required to have at least 1 year of teaching experience online or offline such as In-house school, English center, Primary Education system, Secondary Education system, Tertiary Education system, etc. Native speakers from the US, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada with online, offline teaching experiences in private Institution or Academy outside of their country deserve to be a member of IOTS for English language education.

IOTS stands for International Online Teachers Society and online, offline teachers who are teaching any language can be a member of our society. But there is one requirement. Whatever languages they may teach, they have to speak English fluently because IOTS is international teachers organization and it is a must to speak English to share the ideas and thoughts with other members in common language. The member of IOTS is called IOTSian [iosian] and International Online Teachers Society has its group on Facebook, Linkedin and its official website.

International Online Teachers Society(IOTS) is an independent non profit international organization committed to improving the state of online and offline education in the world by engaging all kinds of language teachers with fluent English speaking skill in the world to shape global, regional and education agendas. Representing 30 nationalities, International Online Teachers Society is truly international. This extensive educational range of global, regional, cultural experience ensures our ability to fully support our global membership and participants at all the activities, Forum and events around the world.

The IOTS Committee is the guardian of our mission, value and brand. It is responsible for creation, innovation and inspiration through an exemplary standard of governance. IOTS Committee members with unique leadership experience from lecturing, writing, publishing, recruiting, certificating, running forum and event, etc., participate in the committee's activities. The Committee role includes managing the policy of International Online Teachers Society and its institutions such as International Online Teachers Society Foreign Language School(IFLS), appointing new members, reviewing all applications in the society, determining and monitoring the execution of International Online Teachers Society, defining the roles of IOTS Committee including the review of strategies and activities in light of mission of International Online Teachers Society.

4. IFLS (IOTS FOREIGN LANGUAGE SCHOOL)

IFLS is International Online Teachers Society Foreign Language School and IFLS is going to provide IOTSian with Educational documents like IFLS Curriculum, Time Management, The Monthly Lesson Plan, Weekly Student Report, Monthly Student Evaluation and Student Survey. The faculty member will be chosen among members of IOTS, and students who are enrolling in IFLS will be assigned to our Faculty members. Target student for IFLS is students from BRICs – Brazil, Russia, India and China and IFLS will give them quality online language program and improve their conversational language skills.

The Faculty Members will be chosen from those who participate in the IOTS Essay Contest 10 times with contributing at least 10 Essays to International Online Teachers Society. Among those who joined IOTS Essay Contest more than 10 times with more than 10 contribution essays, if they want to apply to the position of IFLS staff, they have to pass 1 hour session for their qualification.

Prospective IFLS staff will take Essay Writing Test for the first 30 minutes and then they will have intensive interview with 5 members of IOTS committee for the second 30 minutes. If prospective IFLS staff pass all the contribution period and 1 hour session for their qualification, they will get certificate and identification card from International Online Teachers Society as official members of IOTS and can work as IFLS Faculty members.

5. OUR MOTTO
"SHARE LOVE, SHARE KNOWLEDGE"

To realize "SHARE LOVE, SHARE KNOWLEDGE", IOTS Publishing Committee is going to publish The IOTS E-BOOK, IDEAS with Contribution Essays from the IOTSian and IDEAS, e-book Series published by International Online Teachers Society will be shared with teachers and students in the world for free of charge. We, IOTSians and IOTS Publishing team, are making IDEAS the global standard in terms of online education system and now IOTSians are teaching students in the world with the very book which we made by ourselves.

If IOTSian want to support students in need in the world and make them global leader in the future, he or she can "SHARE LOVE SHARE KNOWLEDGE" by chipping in part of his or her knowledge in The International Online Teachers Society(IOTS) Essay Contest.

7. IOTSCAFE- CULTURAL CENTER OF INTERNATIONAL ONLINE TEACHERS SOCIETY

Main activites of IOTSCAFE is about Language, Education and Traveling(LET). IOTSCAFE will provide teachers and students in the world with the opportunity to experience local arts, languages and geography which will nurture them to become global citizen and especially make students global leaders with fluent language skill and understanding of cultures.


8. POLICY & GUIDELINES

RIVALRY POLICY – IOTS is adamant on rivalry policy that does not allow potential rivalry in our society. If IOTS committee decides any posting from members to be a future threat or potential rivalry to our society, IOTS will remove the posting from our society without previous notice to the concerned member.

EOP - "English Only Policy" This is a must in communicating with every members of the group most especially in communicating with your students.

SOP - "Salary Confidentiality Policy" It is very important not to mention your individual rate to any teacher in the group to avoid misunderstanding and competition of teachers. Salary revelation must be between the teacher and IFLS Faculty member only. In any case, if IOTS committee member can see any discussions that would relate to SALARY, without hesitation we must terminate this teacher without prior notification.

DIRECT SOURCING POLICY Teachers are obliged to focus on assigned curriculum only during assigned class hours and asking for student sourcing directly from assigned students are strongly prohibited. This policy is applicable to students request for teachers hiring and if teachers violate this policy, his or her membership will be terminated permanently without prior notification.

PROMOTIONAL ACTIVITIES – International Online Teachers Society is Non Profit Organization for Online - Offline teachers in the world and the benefit for the group members is on top priority. For this reason, any kind of promotional activities by members such as posting company homepage or personal interest are not allowed and will be removed from the IOTS Facebook wall without prior notification.

PERSONAL SECURITY –The personal data can be handed over and misused to make IOTSianthe victim of a serious crime. This goes far enough towards addressing security concerns that the personal information is ripe for abuse. So posting with personal Skype IM, phone number, email address or any personal information will be removed from the wall of IOTS Facebook without prior notification.

POLITICS AND RELIGION –It is very important that we respect other idealism, so talking about religion and politics in the group is strictly not allowed. We should keep in mind that in this group, teachers come from different countries, races, religions, etc. To avoid prejudice and discrimination, we strictly emphasize not to mention any topics related to religion and politics.

BULLETIN BOARD TOPICS – As to posting topics in the bulletin board, the administrator of the website will screen topics and any unrelated topics to education will be removed without prior notification.

JOB OFFERING – Recruiting IOTS is a full time member who is in charge of Job offerings in our society. If any IOTSian needs to recruit online and offline teachers from our society, pls fill out The Job Offering Form and submit the form to ifls.iots@gmail.com. Recruiting IOTS will post the very job offering from you on the wall of IOTS Facebook and IOTS official website (www.iotsonline.com)on behalf of you.

COPYRIGHT – Copying or transferring a book will be violation of copyright and IOTSians are strongly recommended to buy the book they need. If they want to copy or transfer a book, previous permission from its publisher is required. Subsequently all the posting asking for copying or transferring a book will be deleted without previous notice.

ABSENCES – If the teacher is not feeling well to teach that day, please inform your student ahead of time by sending them messages or contacting them through the information you got from the student. Any problem that could arise between the students and teachers, IOTS will not be held accountable. It is important to communicate well with your students and let them feel comfortable in the Society.

TARDINESS – Frequent late must not be tolerated. Three (3) consecutive late must be a major offense already. Teachers will undergo the procedure wherein the majority of the committee will decide if the teacher should remain or be deleted.

DRESS CODE – Teachers must wear business attire when teaching their students. It is good to look nice and neat when facing your students virtually.

PERSONAL COMPUTER – Teaching at public places such as internet cafes is not allowed. It is a must to have a personal computer at home to be able to teach as an independent home-based teacher.

VIOLATION OF POTRAIT RIGHT- The portrait right means that the person involved is entitled to prohibit the publication or copying of the photo or film. A portrait right will apply when the person filmed or photographed has himself or herself given the instruction to take the photos or make the film. If the person filmed or photographed has not given the instruction and those film or photos are posted on public site, that will be the violation of portrait right. International Online Teachers Society strongly denies the posting of students' pictures or film which were made during class hours on IOTSian's personal website or Facebook wall without student's permission. In case student is aged below 18, posting student's images or film requires his or her parent's permission.

PROFESSIONALISM – Teaches in International Online Teachers Society practices behaviors expected of a professional as below,
Keep the assigned class hours, start and end the class on time.
Teachers should always share the screen with the displayed lesson and video chatting is strictly prohibited as well as chatting with friends while in class.
Teachers should avoid using offensive words to hurt students' feelings like "Are you crazy?" "Are you mad?"
Teachers should Just focus on the textbook's topic.
Teachers should not ask too much personal questions that may reveal student's privacy.
Teachers should act professionally at all times.

QUALITY – Quality is the cornerstone of our success and teachers should show their confidence to students. The confidence is based on our quality image and a reputation for high standards that has built up over teachers'Tenacity, Integrity and Perseverance. Teachers live in competitive world and should provide superior value to students.


9. THE STORY OF IOTS LOGO

The International Online Teachers Society (IOTS) is a group of teachers coming from five different continents namely Asia, the Americas, Africa, Australia, Oceania and Europe. These continents are shown in white within the acronym of International Online Teachers Society.

White represents successful innovation used in teaching which includes the use of technology in online education, a means of reaching out students of different cultures and geographic locations. With the World Wide Web, both teachers and students have access to indefinite educational sources online, keeping education in tune with current developments and into the varied needs and interests of students nowadays.

Colors of blue and green surround the acronyms and white geographic locations in the logo, wherein these colors symbolize knowledge, wisdom, intellect and creativity of teachers, who utilize successful innovations in making the overall learning experience meaningful both to them and to their students.

Moreover, the color green also represents our world, Mother Nature, who sees hope in education – the mission and vision of teachers and what IOTS is all about.
